How can i get my xbox 360 to be able to play halo 3 on xbox live?

Q. I have xbox live. But every time i try to play on xbox live it says there is no one one anything. I even tried to play live on other games, but it showed no one on. How can i fix that problem?
When i select a mode and stuff it says Matchmaking can only be played on Xbox Live. Go to Network and select Xbox Live to play.

I cant find the Network thing. Where is it located?

A. Make sure you have xbox live gold membership. With the silver your only able to chat and talk with people online

What is the difference between xbox live and playstation network?
Q. Besides xbox live isn't free, one is for the playstation, and one is way better.

A. Xbox Live has been updated to include a shop. In the Microsoft shop you can download arcade games, download demos for games, rent movies, download new content for games and wallpapers for your menu. The Sony Playstation 3 now has it's own shop, the Playstation Store. In this store you can download old and new games, download new content for the games, and put your old Playstation games onto your system directly through the store.

Xbox Live allows you to play and communicate with friends from around the world. In games you can play with up to 18 people. The PS3 took this to a new level. On the Playstation Network you can still communicate with friends, however, you can play with up to 40 people in one game. This will allow for more realistic and more chaotic games.

In the new Playstation Network you are able to surf the web. This feature turns the Sony Playstation 3 into a computer. You can surf with up to six Internet tabs open at once. This is a feature that is not available on Microsoft's Xbox Live, and Microsoft has shown no interest in adding it.

Some may find the fact that Microsoft is charging you $50 a year to use their Xbox Live is outrageous. This has been solved by Sony. The Playstation Network is free to whoever owns a PS3. All you have to do is connect to the Internet and you are playing live against people from around the world. The only cost is you have to pay for the Internet bill, which you are already doing.

Sony is trying to get it's Internet to a level where it can finally compete with Microsoft's Xbox Live. This is a hard level to reach since Xbox has dominated the live gaming level for years. Sony is starting to become up to the level and in the next couple of years we could see both systems tied at the same level.

How do i play classic xbox games on my 360 without getting an update from xbox live?
Q. Can i play classic xbox games on an arcade? (I have a hard drive and theres still a lot of memory in it)
I've tried using a usb device and ive updated my xbox but i still can't play classic xbox games.

A. You have to download an emulator for each original xbox game you want to play (assuming one is available at all). If you don't download it from xbox live, there are a few other ways. They are described in this link.
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemuse/xbox360/console/systemupdates.htm

Arcades can play original xbox games, but you have to have a storage device to save the emulator on.

How do I make my Xbox 360 wireless using a wireless network and a router instead of the expensive Xbox adapter?
Q. I have an Xbox 360 and wireless internet in my building. I do have a Linksys braodband router to use to make my Xbox wireless instead of buying the expensive Xbox wireless adapter. Any help please. Thank you!!
But I do not want to use my laptop.

A. The 360 must go online using something plugged into either the Ethernet or USB port on the back. That being said we can begin to narrow down our options: 1 if you want to get the most bang for your buck, you should do whatever you can to wire it directly to your router, it'll definitely give you the best performance. There are other devices that can receive a wireless signal much like the official Xbox360 wireless adapter does. Unfortunately, most of them are just as expensive as the official adapter is, and there's no guarantee that they;ll work. Your only other option then is something that does not technically use wireless, but doesn't require a direct line from the router...this is where it gets pretty specific. And this is pretty much your only other option. These things are called PoE adapters (Power over Ethernet) these things actually work pretty well. They come in two parts, the first part you plug from you router to any standard wall outlet. Then the device uses your buildings wiring to transfer the connection to the second device that is plugged in between your Xbox and another wall outlet. It works just like a wired connection, but without having to run new wiring. The problem here again: Cost. These run anywhere from $30-$100 depending on where you get them.
So sorry, but these are your only alternatives to just buying the wireless adapter (as far as I know). To review, your 3 options are: Wired (through a standard Ethernet cable, which will run you between $10 and $30 depending on length), wireless (which is less reliable and more pricey, but saves a lot of trouble) or Poe (which is more reliable than wireless, but just as expensive, and most models take up a power outlet, and it requires that you have direct access to your wireless router). Good luck!
