Q. im trying to get my xbox 360 fixed for free but my warranty has expired, but all my friends are saying call Microsoft not xbox and they will fix it for free. Please help need some ideas.

A. If they can repair it they will, if they can't they will give you a refurbished one.

A. The NXE dashboard is the most recent version of the system software. It should be installed already (they will likely restore the latest version when they repair it), but if not, you'll be prompted to update to the NXE dashboard when you go online.
