How do I make my Xbox 360 wireless using a wireless network and a router instead of the expensive Xbox adapter?

Q. I have an Xbox 360 and wireless internet in my building. I do have a Linksys braodband router to use to make my Xbox wireless instead of buying the expensive Xbox wireless adapter. Any help please. Thank you!!
But I do not want to use my laptop.

A. The 360 must go online using something plugged into either the Ethernet or USB port on the back. That being said we can begin to narrow down our options: 1 if you want to get the most bang for your buck, you should do whatever you can to wire it directly to your router, it'll definitely give you the best performance. There are other devices that can receive a wireless signal much like the official Xbox360 wireless adapter does. Unfortunately, most of them are just as expensive as the official adapter is, and there's no guarantee that they;ll work. Your only other option then is something that does not technically use wireless, but doesn't require a direct line from the router...this is where it gets pretty specific. And this is pretty much your only other option. These things are called PoE adapters (Power over Ethernet) these things actually work pretty well. They come in two parts, the first part you plug from you router to any standard wall outlet. Then the device uses your buildings wiring to transfer the connection to the second device that is plugged in between your Xbox and another wall outlet. It works just like a wired connection, but without having to run new wiring. The problem here again: Cost. These run anywhere from $30-$100 depending on where you get them.
So sorry, but these are your only alternatives to just buying the wireless adapter (as far as I know). To review, your 3 options are: Wired (through a standard Ethernet cable, which will run you between $10 and $30 depending on length), wireless (which is less reliable and more pricey, but saves a lot of trouble) or Poe (which is more reliable than wireless, but just as expensive, and most models take up a power outlet, and it requires that you have direct access to your wireless router). Good luck!

How to connect my Xbox 360 online with a wireless adapter?
Q. I have 2 xbox's. One is upstairs, connected thru the xbox wireless network adapter. The other is connected with an ethernet cable, but won't connect with a wireless network adapter. Is there a problem having two wireless connections to one router?

A. there should not be a problem with 2 xboxs connected through wireless network. it is most likely your password is wrong. so double check your pass words saved in you xbox. the only bad thing about connecting 2 xboxs is that i can sometimes take a lot of your connection speed and you might start to lag a little. if the problem still persists you should call the xbox help line, also get them to help you make a gateway for your xboxs in your modem so your connection speeds is higher.

How do you connect to xbox live if i dont have a wireless network?
Q. I have a XBOX 360 and i want to connect to xbox live but in my house there is no internet connection.

A. You need an internet connection to connect to XBLive. Call your time warner or comcast and they will bring you a modem. You can either plug a CAT5 cable from the back of your XBOX to the modem or buy and router and create a network. You would plug the router into the modem and the xbox in the router. You can have as many devices connected to the internet as there are plugs on your router.

If you want a wireless connection, make sure you have a wireless router. Go out and buy the wireless adapter for ur xbox for $100+ bucks. Plug it in the back of ur 360, and turn it on. Go to the dash board, network settings, edit settings. Highlight network, hit A. Choose your network and click connect. It will prompt u if you need a password. Good luck.

How do I connect to xbox live when my xbox is in the basement and my computer is upstairs?
Q. I want to connect to Xbox live but my xbox 360 is in the basement and my computer is upstairs so I cant directly hook it up to the router. Is there anything I can do or do I have to buy that $100 wireless thing?

A. It would be cheaper to bring your router to your basement and hook your xbox up, then get a wireless usb network adapter for your computer. The wireless adapters for computers are much cheaper than for the xbox.
